About the Job

The Banking Officer plays a key role in ensuring smooth banking operations, handling account management, transaction processing, and client servicing. This role focuses on maintaining operational control, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations. With a keen eye for detail and strong communication skills, one will liaise with clients and stakeholders to optimise financial processes. This position is ideal for individuals looking to build expertise in banking operations while contributing to a dynamic financial environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

​

​Account Management & Transaction Processing

• Security Documentation perfection prior to transaction handling;
• Account management and setup;
• Transactional processing and documents checking across various products;
• Liaise with Clients, Internal Stakeholders and Third Parties as required ;
• Handle collections and allocate funds accordingly; and
• Co-ordinate cheque clearing with local banks/appointed agent in a timely manner.

Operational Control and Risk Functions

• Regularly review workflows and procedures and enhance same as required;
• Ensure any facility deviations or exceptions are appropriately approved, documented, and regularly reviewed;
• Escalate delay in payments/uncleared cheques to Line Manager/Head of Operations;
• Ensure adherence to systems, workflows & procedures laid down for all the activities as defined in respective manuals;
• Ensure proper controls to minimise the operational risks;
• Monitor and manage Debt Management Activities including collection and follow up procedures to control any overdue receivables and minimise losses;
• Ensure proper and timely MIS circulation to the Clients for proper control and communication flow; and
• Record Operational Incidents in appropriate systems in place.

Client Servicing

• Ensure and follow the Group's standards for Client Servicing;
• Manage Client relationship effectively ensuring client centricity and high levels of customer satisfaction;
• Analyse Client requirements and suggest ways of improving client servicing, products and recommend any system changes required.

Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Policies and Procedures, FCI Rules for International Factoring and all statutory Bodies as applicable to the Factoring Operations; and
• Stay adjourned and adhere to the latest AML/CFT policies and procedures.

Secondary Duties

• Assist various Operations Teams in accordance with business requirements;
• Collaborate and support other internal departments for operations related activities;
• Ensure proper housekeeping and retention of documents, both in physical and electronic form in accordance with retention policies;
• Assist in systems testing of new functionalities or bug fixing as required; and
• Perform other duties and functions delegated from time to time.

Qualifications and skills:

• Diploma/Certificate in Banking & Finance or equivalent;
• Commercial Invoicing/Lending, Accounting/Finance experience preferred
• Good knowledge of MS applications particularly excel;
• Analytical, quantitative, and qualitative with excellent problem-solving skills;
• Attentive to detail
• A team player
• Excellent communication skills and organisational skills; and
• Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively and to manage pressure.
