Our client, a well-established provider of specialised business and commercial services, is seeking to recruit an ambitious and driven Senior Tax Executive to join their experienced team of professionals on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Manager of the Tax Department, the Senior Tax Executive will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, building strong and lasting professional relationships, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a portfolio of clients to ensure full compliance with Maltese tax obligations and the timely submission of all required tax documentation.
  • Review corporate and individual tax returns prepared by junior team members to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Prepare corporate tax computations, income tax returns (including fiscal unit returns), shareholder registration forms, and refund claim forms for clients.
  • Prepare individual income tax returns of varying complexity, including those filed under Maltese residence schemes or specific tax statuses.
  • Liaise with the Malta Tax and Customs Administration regarding standard client tax matters, compliance queries, and administrative procedures.
  • Provide support to the tax advisory department on an ad-hoc basis, including matters involving corporate restructuring, share transfers, and cross-border tax considerations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical training materials, internal guidelines, articles, and other content related to relevant tax topics under management supervision.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and propose improvements to procedures, documentation, and client service workflows.
  • Support and guide junior team members by providing technical input and informal mentoring, particularly during the review or preparation of client deliverables.
Requirements:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with a CPA warrant.
  • Additional tertiary qualifications such as MIT or ADIT will be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in tax, with expertise in Maltese tax legislation and compliance.
  • Strong work ethic, sense of ownership, and excellent communication skills in both English and Maltese.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word) and experience using SAGE.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and organisational skills.
