Provide advisory services to clients in the field of AML/CFT under the direction of the Managing Director and manage the team that provides these services. The role will report to the Managing Director of Risk & Compliance.
  • Carry out process audits, gap analyses, simulated on-site inspections, and draft/review policies and procedures, staff manuals, and remediation plans.
  • Provide ongoing technical and operational assistance to MLROs and conduct AML/CFT risk assessments.
  • Develop and deliver AML/CFT training material and workshops to clients.
  • Support entities within the Group in developing procedures and applying them, including reviewing customer due diligence files and providing guidance and advice.
  • Provide on-site or off-site managed services to subject persons and persons appointed as MLRO on licensed entities.
  • Assist clients with business and internal risk management and control frameworks, identifying shortcomings and areas for improvement, and contributing towards the making of recommendations.
  • Lead AML/CFT consultancy projects, provide mentorship, guidance, and support as needed.
  • Support and provide research insights on changing regulations in areas of financial crime compliance and regulatory obligations for licensed entities.
  • Manage internal and external reviews of the adequacy of policies and procedures and their implementation, and draw up remediation plans for clients.
  • Lead and manage the other members of the team, providing guidance and support as needed.

    A university degree or equivalent qualification in a related area is required, as is at least 5 years of experience in an AML/CFT role. Sound knowledge of AML/CFT Laws and Regulations governing the EU and Malta is essential. Excellent computer skills and proficiency in office software are also required. The ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, delegate responsibilities effectively, and prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines is essential. Leadership and vision in managing major projects or initiatives, as well as a collaborative management style, are also important. A commitment to high professional ethical standards and the ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization are also required.
