About the Role

We are seeking a fast-paced, driven, and tenacious HR Business Partner to join our team in Burmarrad. This is a high-impact role where you will act as a trusted advisor to the business, driving people initiatives, managing complex employee relations, and supporting managers in a high-volume, high-pressure retail environment.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the confidence to take ownership of HR operations, and thrive in a demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary HR partner for retail operations, supporting managers across multiple stores.
  • Manage high-volume recruitment processes, ensuring strong pipelines and timely hiring.
  • Oversee employee relations cases (grievances, disciplinary, absence, performance) ensuring compliance and fair outcomes.
  • Train, coach, and upskill retail managers on people leadership, ER processes, and HR best practices.
  • Drive HR processes and initiatives, including onboarding, engagement, and retention strategies.
  • Partner with senior leadership to challenge and influence decisions in line with business needs and company values.
  • Ensure compliance with local employment legislation and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with the wider HR team on projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

  • Maltese nationality or strong local market knowledge preferred.
  • Proven HR generalist background with experience (minimum of 3+ years) in Retail or FMCG, ideally in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
  • Strong expertise in employee relations and HR operations.
  • Excellent influencing skills with the ability to challenge and push back at a senior level.
  • Confident, resilient, and able to work under pressure with competing demands.
  • A self-starter who takes full ownership of their remit.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
