Door and Hardware Specialist

The Door & Hardware Specialist specializing in timber, metal, and fire-rated doors is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of door systems and associated hardware. This role ensures that all doors, particularly fire doors, comply with fire safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards. The role requires expertise in door hardware, fire door regulations, and compartmentation principles, as well as proficiency in using tools, technical specifications, and inspection procedures.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

Execution of the job:

• Take charge of installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing timber, metal, and fire-rated doors, as well as associated hardware (locks, hinges, closers, seals).
• Conduct thorough site assessments to identify door and hardware requirements for repairs, maintenance or upgrades.
• Strive for optimal efficiency in all tasks, utilizing time-management skills to meet deadlines.
• Strictly adhere to Alberta's policies and procedures.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Ensure that tasks are carried out in adherence to applicable codes and standards.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and certifications.
• Uphold security protocols when handling sensitive information such as drawings, specifications, or site layouts.
• Identify potential hazards, report, and take necessary precautions to mitigate risks.
• Ensure that the tools and equipment are used according to the safety requirements.

Sustaining of Brand Image and Presentation

• Uphold the company's professional image through punctuality, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Ensure that any tool, equipment, vehicle or uniform, baring Alberta logo, is always in a good working and presentable condition.

• Complete installations and maintenance to meet or exceed client expectations, emphasizing quality and reliability.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in door installation, maintenance, or a closely related field.
• Experience specifically with fire-rated doors and compartmentation is highly advantageous.
• Technical qualifications or certifications in carpentry, metalwork, or building systems preferred.
• Preferably holding a valid Maltese Driving License.
