Job description

Are you a hands-on IT professional passionate about maintaining seamless IT Operations and driving technical performance? We're looking for a proactive and technically skilled IT Operations Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. This role is key to ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our IT infrastructure.

Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you will contribute to day-to-day operations, support technology initiatives, and help drive IT best practices across the organisation.

In this role you will:

  • Support & Maintain – Oversee day-to-day IT operations, ensuring smooth, secure, and efficient system performance.

  • Technical Support – Provide hands-on support for hardware, software, networking, and cloud-based services.

  • Systems Administration – Administer and maintain Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Azure), VMware, and backup solutions.

  • Proactive Monitoring – Use tools and processes to monitor system health and respond to incidents swiftly.

  • Cybersecurity – Assist in deploying cybersecurity measures and ensuring compliance with security standards.

  • Documentation – Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.

  • Process Improvement – Contribute to the development of IT policies and operational best practices.

  • Collaboration – Work closely with team members and vendors to deliver reliable and scalable IT services.

Job requirements

  • Experience – 5–7 years in IT infrastructure support, ideally in the telecom or service industry.

  • Technical Knowledge – Solid expertise in Microsoft operating systems, services and products including Active Directory, Azure AD, Domain controllers, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Exchange.

  • Virtualisation – Hands-on experience with VMware environments and backup technologies.

  • Networking – Understanding of Cisco networking and security technologies.

  • Cyber Security - Place a strong emphasis on cybersecurity.

  • Problem-Solving – Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive & analytical mindset.

  • Certifications – Certifications in Microsoft, VMware, or Cisco (e.g., CCNA) & ITIL4 Specialist: Create, Deliver, Support

  • Communication – Clear communicator who can explain technical issues to diverse audiences.

  • Teamwork – A collaborative team player who works effectively across departments.

  • Flexibility – Willingness to work flexible or irregular hours when needed.
