Our client, an EU-licensed Payment Services and E-Money Institution, provides innovative, technology-driven financial services for both consumer and corporate clients. They are seeking a Finance Operations & Reconciliations Officer to join their team in Malta.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced fintech environment. You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in daily financial operations, reconciliation processes, and transactional activities.

Tasks
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across banking, acquiring, and other partner transactions.
  • Monitor customer funds and safeguarded accounts on a daily basis.
  • Assist with the management of treasury balances including prefunded accounts with partners.
  • Support daily transactional processing within the finance team.
  • Contribute to monthly management reporting, financial reporting, and preparation of external reports.
  • Support regulatory reporting to authorities such as the MFSA and Central Bank of Malta.
  • Maintain and update the Financial Operations Manual and related procedures.
  • Assist with audit requests and liaise with internal and external auditors.
  • Provide financial support to non-finance teams to improve operational efficiency.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports as requested by the Head of Finance and senior management.
Requirements
  • 2-4 years experience in a similar role within financial services, ideally in an EMI.
  • Higher Education Qualification in Accountancy or equivalent; final stages of ACCA also considered.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Desirable: experience with card acquiring/processing and understanding of different payment methods (Cards, APMs, etc.).
