Finance Manager – International Business

Atlas Insurance PCC is investing to support the accelerating growth of our international programs. We are creating a senior role to lead finance operations across our international business, both through our non cellular core and our expanding portfolio of cells, driving the standardisation, streamlining, and automation of processes, enabling us to scale effectively.

Reporting: Reports to the CFO and partners closely with the Financial Controller. The role will include being a member of various cell committees, subject to the MFSA approval process.

What you'll deliver (first 6–12 months)

• Optimisation of finance ops: Simplify and standardise reporting formats, reconciliations, and dividend approval calculations across all direct and third-party managed cells.
• IFRS 17 accounting: Ensure the team delivers timely, accurate management accounts and regulatory submissions for international business in partnership with the actuarial function.
• Reporting efficiency: Establish uniform board and committee reporting routines and portfolio-level international performance views.
• Capacity to grow: Achieve measurable reduction in finance cycle times and efficiency.
  

Key responsibilities

• Lead our international business finance operations across all live cells, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and control, overseeing standards and performance across the international portfolio.
• Review IFRS 17 management accounts and statutory reporting for the international business, coordinating Solvency II QRTs, RSR/ORSA inputs, SCR monitoring, and regulator interactions with the team.
• Oversee treasury and asset management transactions, maintaining compliance with mandates and investment policies.
• Drive automation and process improvement with advisors and the BI & AI team, simplifying packs, bordereaux, and reconciliations, and applying AI tools to reduce manual processing and assure data integrity.
• Serve as MFSA-approved person on cell committees, and present clearly to boards, auditors, and tax advisors.
• Portfolio lens: Shift oversight from account-by-account to portfolio performance standardising KPIs and aggregated reporting.
• People leadership: Mentor a cross-functional team, set high working standards, and help shape future operating model.
• Growth enablement: Support projections, due diligence and licence applications for new programs, ensuring a smooth handover from onboarding to steady-state operations.

About you

• Qualified accountant (ACCA/University Degree or equivalent); 7–10+ years in senior insurance finance in a Solvency II environment; confident with IFRS 17.
• Proven experience in multi-entity/portfolio settings (PCC, fronting, MGA/captive, insurance management company or carrier with multiple programs).
• Hands-on with regulatory reporting (Solvency II QRTs, ORSA/SCR inputs, MFSA), with a strong governance mindset.
• Process simplifier, ideally experienced in using analytics and willing to pilot AI (supported by our BI & AI team) for efficiency.
• Excellent communicator, clear written outputs, confident board presence, and calm under pressure.
