Our client, an Insurance company based in Ta' Xbiex, is currently looking for a Finance Manager to join their team. In this role, the selected candidate will be leading the finance operations across international business and a growing client portfolio, driving standardisation, streamlining, and automation of processes, enabling the company to scale effectively.
Reporting to the CFO and collaborating closely with the Financial Controller, the role will also include being a member of various committees, subject to the approval of the MFSA.
This role is hybrid and offers a salary of up to €75K, depending on experience.
Role & Responsibilities
Oversee finance operations for international business, maintaining accuracy, consistency, and adherence to standards
Ensure timely and precise delivery of management accounts and regulatory filings, working closely with the actuarial team
Handle management accounts and statutory reporting for international operations, including Solvency II submissions, SCR tracking, and regulator interactions
Supervise treasury and asset management activities, ensuring compliance with mandates and investment guidelines
Transition reporting from individual accounts to portfolio-level performance, standardising KPIs and consolidated reporting
Lead automation and process optimisation initiatives with advisors and the BI & AI team, streamlining workflows and safeguarding data integrity
Support business growth initiatives, due diligence, and licence applications for new programmes, ensuring seamless handovers
Guide, mentor, and manage a cross-functional finance team
Education, Skills & Experience
Qualified Accountant (ACCA / University Degree or equivalent)
7+ years' experience in a senior finance role in Malta
Fluency in English at a C1+ level, both written and spoken
Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients
Previous experience mentoring or leading a team
Ideally experienced in analytics and willing to pilot AI solutions for efficiency
Excellent communication skills
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
Confident board presence
About the Role
