An established and growing firm is currently seeking to appoint a Head of Legal to lead its legal function and oversee a diverse portfolio of both local and international clients. This is a senior leadership role ideal for a commercially minded, detail-driven legal professional with strong regulatory and corporate experience.

You will be joining a dynamic and professional team, working across industries such as iGaming, crypto, and corporate advisory, with significant client exposure and scope for influence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the legal team to ensure a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Provide sound legal advice on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters, both internally and to external clients.
  • Supervise the quality of legal documentation prepared by team members, ensuring adherence to the firms internal standards.
  • Allocate legal tasks across client engagements to ensure efficient and timely delivery.
  • Act as liaison with external counsel, regulatory bodies, clients, and other departments as needed.
  • Oversee the progress of legal projects, monitoring deadlines, budgets, and reporting developments to partners and clients.
  • Identify new business opportunities within the legal services division and contribute to strategic growth plans.
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships, becoming a key point of contact on legal matters.
  • Support senior management with legal insight and ad hoc advisory work.

Requirements:

  • Warranted lawyer qualified to practise in Malta.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a legal or corporate services environment.
  • Strong background in corporate, commercial, and regulatory law.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Maltese.
  • Proven leadership ability and confidence in managing both people and client relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Team player with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
