About the Job

We are seeking to recruit a proactive, and highly motivated individual that is driven by excellence to join our Trade Finance Middle Office team within our Banking Operations department.  The successful candidate will be supporting the department's day-to-day activities across a range of trade finance related products, but initially in relation to the 'Commodity Trade Finance' team in the attainment of the overall strategic business plan and objectives of the department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handling of day-to-day duties and internal/external queries for a portfolio of Trade Finance clients.
• Review and analysis of credit applications for new and existing clients with the assistance and guidance of senior colleagues.
• Review of facility letters and related security documentation with the assistance and guidance of senior colleagues.
• Review and assess transaction requests for potential deviations/risks and submit to senior colleagues and/or risk management for approval.
• Follow up receipt and perfection of all security documentation and other documentation as required, and ensure that all conditions precedent to drawdown are fulfilled.
• Day-to-day monitoring throughout the lifecycle of transactions to ensure conditions subsequent are met and to confirm that the transaction flow is as per the approved facility or deviation parameters.
• Conduct and review all necessary transactional/compliance checks, in line with Bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure potential red flags are highlighted to senior colleagues and/or escalated to the appropriate department(s) in a timely manner.
• Maintain a proper audit trail of all movements throughout the lifecycle of transactions via daily review and updating of customer positions / reports.
• Assist and co-ordinate with all other departments in the Bank in order to ensure a customer centric approach and conclude transactions efficiently in line with approved procedures and best practices.
• Assist in the daily keying of commitments, loans, processing of fees and collaterals, etc. in the Bank's core banking system.
• Periodic review & update of procedures for further review by senior colleagues.
• Handling and follow up of diary notes, ad-hoc tasks and reporting as required from time to time.
• Assisting other teams within Banking Operations as and when required.
• Participate in team projects involving the testing of new setups on banking software to meet business needs.
• Staying adjourned and adhering to the latest AML/CFT policies and procedures.

Qualifications and skills:

• Possess related experience within an Operations Middle/Back-office environment;
• Be willing to learn and recommend improvements to current processes;
• Knowledge and/or experience of international trade finance would be considered an asset.
• Must be an "involved" and proactive team player assisting others as required;
• Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
• Ability to accurately multi-task in a busy environment;
• Possess both accurate and efficient data input capabilities;
• Have an eye for detail and proficiency;
• Possess good communication skills
