Job Description

Working as part of an existing team, the selected candidate would be expected to perform the following duties:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical distribution and transmission systems, including conduits, cables, wires, and related equipment, such as transformers, circuit breakers, and switches;
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings to determine the location of wiring or equipment; 
  • To terminate main switch gear and main control panels;
  • Inspect and test power lines to locate and identify problems;
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components;
  • Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices;
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment;
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures;
  • To carry out full and final testing on all installations;
  • To commission and energise ELV systems, pumps and equipment;
Qualifications

      The selected candidate will preferably:

  • Have at least 2 years' previous work experience working on electrical installations;
  • Possess relevant qualifications;
  • Possess a clean police conduct and a valid driving license;
  • Have a good command of the English language;
  • Understand technical drawings including schematic drawings and wiring diagrams;
  • Be highly professional with a proactive approach;
  • Possess excellent organizational and communication skills;
  • Be a team player willing to work in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment;
  • Be self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
