We are seeking a Junior AML Analyst to join our team in Malta. The primary responsibility of this role is to monitor customer activity to detect and prevent financial crime.
Objectives:
  • Monitor the activity of customers to detect and report any suspicious activity;
  • Review transaction monitoring alerts on a day-to-day basis, and review higher risk accounts in accordance with company procedures;
  • Perform ongoing monitoring and enhanced due diligence on customers;
  • Analyse source of wealth and source of funds documents;
  • Draft transaction monitoring and customer review reports;
  • Review PEP/Sanctions potential matches;
  • Take appropriate action as required by the procedures of the company to prevent financial crime;
  • Identify irregular or suspicious activity and/or accounts and submit internal reports to the MLRO;
  • Ensure proper record-keeping of actions taken;
  • Review accounts for adverse media and other publicly available information;
  • Undergo regular training;
  • Assist with internal and external audits, as may be necessary;
  • Perform and review customer risk assessments;
  • Take a proactive approach to improve the compliance framework of the company;
  • Perform other AML/CFT tasks as may be necessary.
Key Skills:
  • At least 1 year proven experience in AML/CFT. Experience within the gambling sector is considered a plus;
  • Knowledge of AML/CFT compliance requirements;
  • A high degree of fluency in English is mandatory;
  • Fluency in any of the following languages is considered an asset: Swedish, Finnish, Hungarian, Dutch, or German;
  • True interest in the prevention of financial crime;
  • Meticulous and analytical  with a keen attention to detail;
  • Attention to detail e.g. accurate capture of data;
  • The correct attitude with a willingness to learn;
  • A high level of integrity, confidentiality and ownership;
  • Compliance or Criminology background preferred;
  • Professional certifications (e.g. ACAMS, ICA) and previous training are considered a plus.
