Design & Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical)

The Design and Commissioning Engineer will specialize in the design, installation, and commissioning of fire protection systems. This role involves creating cost-effective, compliant solutions that meet client needs while coordinating with various departments to ensure seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities

System Design

• Develop detailed designs for fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and standards.
• Specify components and materials that align with project scope and client requirements.

Project Coordination

• Collaborate with project management and commercial teams to integrate designs smoothly into overall project plans.
• Conduct site surveys to assess installation quality and functionality of fire protection systems.

Commissioning

• Oversee the commissioning process, ensuring systems are installed and function as designed.
• Perform tests and inspections to verify system performance and compliance.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Monitor project progress to identify and resolve design or installation issues, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
• Ensure all designs and installations comply with industry regulations and company standards, including ISO and LPCB requirements.
  
  

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including design revisions, calculations, and client communications.
• Provide regular progress reports to management and stakeholders.
  
  

Team Development and Training

• Mentor junior team members in fire protection design and commissioning principles and best practices.
• Lead internal training sessions on new fire protection technologies and standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Warrant in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in designing and commissioning fire protection systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant design software, with a strong aptitude for learning and adapting to new digital tools and technologies.
• Tech-savvy mindset, demonstrating comfort with modern software and digital platforms to streamline design and project processes.
• Thorough understanding of industry standards and fire safety regulations.
