Junior Legal Counsel

Reporting to: Head of Legal
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including service agreements, marketing agreements, IOs, NDAs and internal contracts;
- Using standard contract templates to prepare/agree to other agreements (e.g., Service Terms and Conditions, subcontracts, consultancy and agency, and reseller agreement).
- Checking terms of standard agreements against Company policy and terms of standard forms. Amendments to/extension of existing agreements.
- Management of renewal/extension dates and related negotiation timetable.
- Provide legal support on a variety of applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and liaising with financial institutions as needed.
- Presentation of legal issues to the Head of Legal together with analysis, options, and recommendations.
- Preparation of ongoing Due Diligence requests.
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks and compliance related to business transactions.
- Assist with corporate matters, regulatory filings, and risk management policies.
- Work closely with internal departments, including finance, commercial, and operations teams, to ensure legal and commercial alignment.
- Conduct focused legal research on a variety of topics critical to business operations, including marketing regulations, intellectual property matters and terms and conditions issues.
- Any other ad-hoc duties that may be required.
What You Bring
- Law degree from an accredited institution.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant legal experience gained at a law firm or within an in-house legal department.
- Demonstrated ability to understand business models (B2C & B2B) and provide practical, risk-balanced legal advice that aligns with commercial goals.
- Ability to work independently and cooperate with different teams.
- Experience gained within the technology sector or other fast-paced industries.
- A proactive, commercial mindset with the ability to identify legal risks while simultaneously supporting and enabling business objectives.
Nice to have
- Previous exposure to the iGaming/Online Gambling industry, including a basic understanding of global regulatory landscapes, particularly the critical jurisdictions (Curacao, Tobique, Kanawake, etc).
- Experience with JIRA for issue tracking, project management and reporting.
