Your Mission as a Senior Programmer

At Exient, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our games. Reporting to the Lead Programmer, your primary responsibility will be the technical design and implementation of large-scale game systems. You'll work closely with other disciplines, including designers, artists, and producers, to deliver robust technical solutions that meet complex design requirements. Your expertise will drive the development of high-quality, engaging games that delight our global audience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Design & Implementation: Architect and develop large-scale game systems and features using C# and C++.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to translate design requirements into technical solutions.
  • Performance Optimization: Conduct performance analysis, profiling, and optimization to ensure smooth and efficient gameplay experiences.
  • Code Quality: Write clear, maintainable, and portable code that meets industry standards.
  • Multi-Platform Development: Contribute to the development of games across various platforms, ensuring consistent quality and performance.
  • Technical Leadership: Mentor and support junior programmers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Professional Experience: 5+ years of professional game development experience.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in C# and C++.
  • Game Engines: Experience with Unity and/or Unreal Engine is highly advantageous.
  • 3D Mathematics & Rendering: Thorough knowledge of 3D math and rendering algorithms.
  • Source Control: Familiarity with Perforce and Git.
  • Educational Background: Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Cross-Discipline Communication: Strong ability to work with non-technical staff and convey technical ideas clearly.
  • Self-Motivation & Organization: Well-organized and self-driven with the ability to estimate work complexity and time.
  • Passion for Gaming: A genuine passion for developing and playing games.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Mobile Development: Experience developing games for mobile platforms.
  • Mentorship: Experience in mentoring and developing junior programmers.
  • Specialized Programming: Knowledge in network, physics, and AI programming.
  • Low-Level Understanding: Familiarity with processor architectures and assembly languages, particularly ARM.
  • Graphics APIs: Understanding of common graphics APIs such as OpenGL/ES, Metal, Vulkan, and DirectX.
  • Shader Languages: Proficiency in shader languages.
