Job Description

Our client is a well-established financial institution and key player in the local market, are currently seeking to recruit a Business Support Engineer to join their Information Technology Unit and provide high-quality technical and application support to internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and functional support on core banking and business applications, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Analyse, troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs, escalating issues where necessary.
  • Support system configurations, parameter changes and application updates in line with business requirements and change management procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external providers to implement fixes, enhancements and integrations.
  • Assist in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT) and go-live support for new features, releases and projects.
  • Document procedures, configurations, known issues and solutions to build and maintain a robust knowledge base.
  • Support data extraction and reporting requests, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring issues and proposing process or system enhancements.
  • Provide guidance and training to business users to maximise effective use of

systems and tools.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Solid understanding of IT systems and business applications, ideally within a financial services or similar regulated environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand system workflows and business processes.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in dealing with users at different levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly language.
  • Well-organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive, customer-focused mindset.

Additional Requirements:

  • A qualification in IT, Computer Science or a related field at MQF Level 5 or higher (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in an application support, business support, or similar IT role will be considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with SQL, reporting tools and ITIL-based support processes will be viewed favourably.
