Job Summary
The major responsibility of the ABE / ASE Trainer – Math is to provide educational opportunities for students seeking to either improve basic academic skills and/or prepare for the math High School Equivalency tests. Environment: Promote and support teamwork and cooperation with other division staff, instructors, and external agencies in order to promote a positive learning experience for our students. Provide timely information and referrals as needed; meet deadlines for reporting purposes. Provide a classroom environment conductive to learning, sensitive to diverse backgrounds and responsive to the needs of the individual and the class in general.

Required Qualifications
BA or BS degree in Education or related field.

Preferred Qualifications
Three years of experience in teaching ABE / ASE MA in Adult Education or related field Training or coursework in teaching math Experience with disadvantaged individuals Demonstration of proficiency in oral and written English Technology/Digital Literacy proficiency Teacher certification/training or coursework in teaching methodology Completion of at least three instructional workshops in subject area being taught or other relevant topics to the instructional assignment Demonstration of competency in subject area development Knowledge of evaluation techniques for assessing student placement, progress, and test readiness
