Systems Engineer

We are growing, and we are now looking for a Systems Engineer to build, maintain, and troubleshoot our rapidly expanding infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
We are exploring ways to grow our team and in taking ownership of this role, your main areas of responsibility will be:
- Managing and monitoring systems, both software and hardware.
- Configure and manage network equipment including IPSEC tunnels.
- Ensure the highest levels of system availability.
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks.
- Work with the Quality Assurance and Development teams on bugs and continuous optimisation of systems.
- Maintain constant backups of mission-critical systems.
- Provide second-level support to our Customer Service team and be part of a periodic "on-call" roster for out of office hours support.
- Liaise with service providers and external partners for problems related to hardware.
- 24x7 proactive monitoring and support of the live and pre-production environments.
- Any other tasks or projects assigned as required from time to time.
Requirements
- Background in IT or computer science - a degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
- General experience with operating systems mainly Linux (command line knowledge).
- Familiarity with common networking technologies (DNS, NAT, IPSEC etc..).
- Ability to write Bash or Python scripts for automation.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Solid troubleshooting skills.
- Interest in infrastructure, systems, or DevOps-style work.
Nice to have:
- Exposure to virtual machines or containers (e.g., Docker).
- Awareness of monitoring tools like Grafana, Zabbix, or similar.
- Experience with simple database (SQL) tasks (backups, queries).
