Dispensing Optician or Optical Assistant

The company operates four shops located in Sliema, The Point, Pendergardens, and Rabat. Role Description This full-time, on-site role is based in Malta and involves supporting customers with their eyewear and eye care needs. The Dispensing Optician or Optical Assistant will guide customers in selecting frames and lenses, take accurate measurements, and ensure proper fitting and adjustment of spectacles. The role includes explaining lens options and coatings, helping customers understand prescriptions, and coordinating with optometrists regarding eye exam outcomes. Daily tasks also involve maintaining a welcoming store environment, handling orders and repairs, managing stock, and delivering consistent, high-quality customer service. Qualifications
• Strong foundation in optics, including lens types and frame fitting.
• Experience in customer service and a commitment to customer satisfaction in a retail or clinical setting.
• Understanding of optometry processes and the ability to interpret and explain eye prescriptions.
• Familiarity with eye exams and the ability to support optometrists and customers through the exam journey.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional approach.
• Attention to detail, good manual dexterity for frame adjustments, and basic computer skills for record-keeping.
• Previous experience in an optical environment is preferred; relevant vocational training or certification in optics or eye care is an asset.
