The Role KPMG Malta is looking for a Cyber Security Specialist to join our Digital Solutions team. If you enjoy helping clients identify security risks, assess their security controls, and improve their cybersecurity posture, this could be the right opportunity for you. You will work with clients across different industries, supporting cybersecurity projects, identifying key risks, and recommending practical security solutions. This role offers the opportunity to develop both your technical and consulting skills, gain exposure to a variety of client environments, and contribute to meaningful cybersecurity and digital transformation initiatives within a Big Four firm.

Key Responsibilities
As a Cyber Security Specialist, you will:
• Design and implement cybersecurity controls, security architectures, and remediation plans aligned with client needs, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Support cybersecurity operations and assessments, including SIEM, EDR, SOAR, vulnerability management, identity protection, security reviews, and red team exercises.
• Assess cyber risks, identify control weaknesses, and develop practical remediation plans to improve security resilience and support business objectives.
• Advise on security architecture, policies, cloud and on-premises security, secure software development, application security testing, vulnerability remediation, and DevSecOps practices.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders and technical teams, support incident response and threat monitoring activities, and manage multiple engagements while maintaining high-quality consulting standards. Required Qualifications and Skills
• Experience in cybersecurity operations, security engineering, security architecture, application security, or related technical security disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of security technologies, including network security, endpoint protection, IAM, cloud security, infrastructure hardening, and secure configuration.
• Hands-on experience with penetration testing, red teaming, adversary simulation, security incident response, and recovery activities.
• Familiarity with secure software development practices, application security testing (SAST/DAST), and security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in client-facing and multidisciplinary environments. Preferred Qualifications and Skills
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CEH, OSCP, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CCSP, or Azure/AWS Security certifications.
• Experience with DevSecOps, secure software delivery, automation, and security orchestration within modern development environments.
• Knowledge of cloud security tools and architectures, including Azure Security Center, AWS GuardDuty, and Google Cloud Security Command Center.
• Exposure to threat intelligence, forensic analysis, and advanced security monitoring practices.
• Experience in application security, secure engineering, cybersecurity consulting, or client advisory roles within a professional services environment.
