Job Description
Our client is a family-owned business operating in the food manufacturing and retail sector. They are currently looking to recruit a Production Manager to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and overseeing day-to-day bakery and food manufacturing operations.
- Planning and managing production schedules to meet customer requirements and business targets.
- Maximising the efficient use of labour, machinery, raw materials, and packaging.
- Improving productivity, reducing waste, and enhancing overall operational performance.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, HACCP, GMP, quality, and health & safety standards.
- Managing, coaching, and developing production supervisors and wider production teams.
- Tracking and reporting on production KPIs, and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Working closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Maintenance, Quality, and Logistics teams to support seamless operations.
- Leading continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Ensuring accurate production planning, inventory control, and reporting through ERP systems.
- Supporting the COO in driving operational excellence across the bakery and food manufacturing business.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a bakery, food manufacturing, or FMCG production environment.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Production Management role.
- Proven experience managing high-volume manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, GMP, and quality management systems.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics and/or SAP ERP systems, particularly in production planning, MRP, inventory management, and reporting.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- A degree or diploma in Food Technology, Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field would be considered an asset.
- Experience in continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies would be highly desirable.
