About the Job

We are currently seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Bank’s accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance, providing technical expertise across a broad range of accounting and tax matters while contributing to the continuous enhancement of financial processes and controls, in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures, and in compliance with international accounting standards and tax regulations. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, handling complex accounting and tax mattes and looking to advance their career within the banking sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supporting month-end and year-end accounting procedures, reconciliations and financial reporting processes.
• Preparing and reviewing monthly consolidated accounts and variance analysis.
• Managing and reviewing tax compliance obligations, including income tax, VAT, and other statutory filings.
• Support with tax and VAT refund applications and other tax‑related matters.
• Liaising with auditors, external advisors and tax authorities.
• Assisting with internal and external audits and reviews, including data collection, issue investigation, responses and walk‑throughs.
• Preparing financial and tax information for management, external auditors, regulators, tax authorities, group entities and stakeholders, including disclosures for the published accounts.
• Ensuring ongoing compliance with accounting standards, local tax legislation and timely submission to the authorities.
• Contributing to process improvements and internal controls within the finance function.
• Documenting procedures, policies, external guidance, and controls related to the accounting function.
• Performing general administrative duties as necessary.
• Staying adjourned and adhering to the latest AML/CFT policies and procedures.

Qualifications and skills:

• An accounting qualification such as a Masters in Accounting, ACCA or equivalent.
  
• A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience gained within an advisory firm, professional services firm, financial institution or similar environment.
• Sound knowledge of accounting standards and local tax legislation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Be self-driven and keen to develop skills and enhance knowledge.
• Be an avid team-player with a commitment to assist and cooperate with other team members.
• Is able to adapt to change effortlessly.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficient in MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
