The Role

Responsibilities:

1. Merchant Acquisition

  • Identify and prospect new merchants who need payment acceptance solutions -ecommerce, POS, softPOS or any other acquiring product;
  • Attend events abroad and locally, conduct sales meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations;
  • Negotiate commercial terms and close merchant onboarding deals.

2. Sales Pipeline & Target Achievement

  • Maintain a pipeline of leads, ensuring continuous business development;
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for new merchant sign-ups and revenue growth;
  • Track and report performance metrics to management.

3. Market Research & Strategy

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs;
  • Identify new sectors and opportunities for merchant acquisition;
  • Provide feedback to product and marketing teams to improve offerings.

4. Onboarding & Implementation Coordination

  • Assist merchants through the onboarding process (KYC, documentation, technical integration);
  • Coordinate with operations, risk, and technical teams to ensure smooth activation;
  • Train merchants on payment terminals, dashboards, or online portals.

About You

Experience:

  • 6-12 months experience in sales, acquiring products, preferably ecommerce payment solutions.

Core requirements:

  • Strong communication (verbal & written);
  • Ability to build up relationship with customers;
  • Basic understanding of sales process; 
  • Ability to meet sales targets and KPIs;
  • Time management and organizational skills;
  • Comfort with digital tools, ability to assist Merchants with integrations.

Technical requirements:

  • Ability to prepare proposals and quotes;
  • Understanding ecommerce product/acquiring services;
  • Basic data analysis (forecasting, pipeline reporting).

Skills requirements:

  • Prospecting and lead generation;
  • Negotiations skills, deal closing skills;
  • Pipeline management;
  • Ability to handle objections.
