Job Description

Our client is a government agency working to prevent money laundering and terrorism financing in Malta. They are currently seeking to recruit an Assistant Manager (Strategy).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with all the agency's sections to monitor the effective implementation of the National AML/CFT strategy alongside the agency's strategy and objectives.
  • Participating in the formulation of AML/CFT National and the agency's strategies ensuring alignment with evolving ML/TF trends and AML/CFT legislative and institutional changes.
  • Managing and coordinating the execution of strategic initiatives and cross-sectional projects, ensuring the implementation of agreed actions and recommendations in line with expectations.
  • Participating in conferences, seminars, workshops and internal committees to keep abreast with revisions and updates to the AML/CFT legislative and institutional framework, both at local and international levels.
  • Providing ad-hoc assistance in connection with any evaluation, assessment or study being undertaken by various organisations concerning the agency or Malta.
  • Fulfilling any other duties delegated by the Head of Section, Senior Manager and Manager.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • An MQF Level 6 qualification with 5 years of working experience, preferably in AML/CFT, and including 1 year in a senior level OR
  • An MQF Level 5 qualification with 7 years of experience, preferably in AML/CFT.
  • Experience in programme management roles is advantageous but not essential, as support will be provided to develop these skills on the job.
  • Able to show a track record of efficiency, diligence, a solution-oriented mindset and creativity in a relevant post.

Additional Requirements:

  • Be highly organized, have strong reasoning and analytical skills as well as a strong ability to read, understand and analyse.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be self-motivated and have a proactive approach, capable of working independently and leading tasks or projects with minimal supervision.
