IT Lead/Manager

The IT Lead/Manager will report to the COO responsible for overseeing the
IT unit within ARQ Resources Limited or any other reporting line as may be
necessary at the time. The role involves strategic oversight of IT operations,
infrastructure and systems development, ensuring alignment with business
objectives and compliance with industry standards.
Main duties and responsibilities will
include, but are not limited to:
Strategy & Planning:
- Contribute to the development of the company's IT objectives, aligning technology initiatives with business goals.
- Lead and support the implementation, integration, and optimisation of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems to enhance operational efficiency and data integrity across the organisation.
- Evaluate emerging
technologies and provide recommendations for adoption. - Develop and maintain
disaster recovery plans and ensure regular testing. - Ensure business
continuity through robust backup systems and contingency planning. - Develop and
maintain the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and
alignment with strategic priorities.
IT Operations &
Infrastructure:
- Oversee the
IT function to ensure minimal disruption to business operations. - Administer
and maintain Windows Server and Office 365 environments. - Manage network
infrastructure, servers, telephony, Wi-Fi, CCTV and access control. - Install,
configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and
Group-wide software applications. - Perform
proactive maintenance, incident reporting, and ensure systems run smoothly
for optimal user benefit. - Maintain
web domains, DNS records, and administrative upkeep. - Oversee
accurate records of IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses.
Technical Support & User Engagement:
- Oversee the ticketing system and user support services.
- Troubleshoot system, network, hardware, and software issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Communicate with staff, suppliers, and third-party contractors to set up systems and resolve technical issues via face-to-face, electronic, or phone interactions.
Security & Compliance:
- Establish and enforce IT
security policies and best practices. - Implement and monitor
security protocols to safeguard company data and systems from internal and
external threats. - Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and
recommend mitigation strategies. - Ensure IT
operations comply with relevant regulatory requirements and support
internal/external audits. - Maintain IS
policies and procedures, infrastructure documentation and user guidelines. - Oversee
mobile device management and endpoint security across the organisation.
Vendor & License
Management:
- Manage relationships
with IT vendors and service providers, including contract negotiation and
performance evaluation. - Oversee software
licensing compliance and renewals.
Leadership & Team
Development:
- Lead and mentor IT
staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical
excellence.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties as may be required from time to time.
Qualifications:
- A
bachelor's degree (MQF Level 6) in Information Technology, Computer
Science, or a related field; extensive relevant experience may also be
considered in lieu of formal qualifications. - System
administration and IT certifications in Microsoft or other network related
fields are considered an asset.
Experience:
- Experience
in ERP system implementation and support is considered an asset. - Experience
in MySQL/MSSQL database administration would be considered an asset. - Proficient
in managing hybrid IT infrastructures across on-premises and cloud
environments. Experienced with virtualization platforms including Hyper-V
and VMware, Windows Server technologies, and cloud services such as
Microsoft 365 and Azure. - Familiarity
with deploying and maintaining SIP-based VoIP/PBX systems and solutions
such as Fortinet, Unifi, and Aruba devices would be considered an asset. - In-depth
knowledge of information security practices, policies, and regulations. - Experience
with scripting and automation tools.
