Junior Shipping Clerk

Role purpose

The Junior Shipping Clerk supports the coordination and management of international shipments from origin to destination. The role involves close collaboration with internal departments and external partners to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient shipping operations while delivering a high standard of customer service.

The key duties and responsibilities of the role are as follows:

• Assist in coordinating international shipments from suppliers to final destination.
• Communicate with internal departments including Sales, Master Data, Warehouse, Finance, and Operations.
• Liaise with external partners such as shipping agents, freight forwarders, customs brokers, hauliers, and suppliers.
• Arrange shipment collections, track shipments, and monitor delivery timelines.
• Collect, verify, and manage shipping and customs documentation to ensure timely clearance.
• Support the preparation of customs import documentation and coordination with customs, hauliers, and warehouse teams.
• Maintain accurate shipment records using Excel/Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Assist with invoice follow-ups, cost reconciliation, and coordination with the Finance team.
• Support the operations team with daily tasks, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Carry out any other duties required to support business operations and growth.

• Basic knowledge or interest in shipping, logistics, or supply chain operations
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work well within a team and manage multiple tasks
• Willingness to learn and develop in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an asset but not essential
