The Compliance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the company operates within the regulatory frameworks of multiple jurisdictions. This role combines hands-on compliance operations with advisory responsibilities, supporting the business in meeting its licensing obligations, mitigating risks, and embedding a strong culture of compliance across all functions.
Working closely with the Head of Compliance, the Compliance Manager assists in the preparation and management of regulatory inspections, oversees internal compliance frameworks, and provides guidance to business teams on evolving regulatory obligations. This position requires a detail-oriented, proactive professional with a strong understanding of iGaming regulations in key markets.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in and/or lead the preparation and management of inspections, audits, and reviews conducted by regulatory bodies.
- Create, maintain, and revise internal policies and procedures to ensure the business meets its regulatory obligations.
- Provide compliance advice to all business units, ensuring operational activities are aligned with licensing conditions and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the training and competency framework, ensuring all employees are equipped with up-to-date compliance knowledge.
- Prepare reports for senior management and regulatory bodies as required.
- Monitor and assess compliance risks across the business, escalating findings where necessary.
- Conduct regular compliance reviews and prepare reports on adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
- Deliver compliance training and awareness sessions across departments to promote best practices.
- Investigate compliance breaches or incidents, recommend corrective actions, and oversee follow-up.
- Support the Head of Compliance in developing strategic initiatives, risk assessments, and continuous improvement of compliance processes.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a compliance role within iGaming operations
- Direct experience with regulated markets such as Malta, Ontario, Netherlands, and/or Estonia considered a strong advantage
- Good working knowledge of international iGaming regulations, licensing conditions, and responsible gambling obligations
- Experience preparing for and managing regulatory inspections or audits
- Familiarity with AML, KYC, GDPR, and responsible gambling frameworks
- Degree in Law, Business, Compliance, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory requirements clearly
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and work under pressure
- Proactive, self-disciplined, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong sense of integrity, accountability, and discretion
