Tax Associate

A boutique Maltese accounting and auditing firm combining local and international expertise to provide financial guidance and growth-focused advisory services is seeking a Tax Associate to join their team.

In this role, you will support a diverse client portfolio, assist with tax compliance and reporting, liaise with authorities, and contribute to complex tax analysis while gaining hands-on experience in Maltese taxation.

This is a hybrid role with flexible hours and offers a salary of up to €45K depending on education and experience.

Role & Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients across various industries and assist with the preparation and submission of Income Tax returns, refund claims, and other tax documentation

• Assist clients with complex transactions and provide guidance on tax compliance

• Liaise with Malta tax authorities, including responding to notices and coordinating with relevant entities as required

• Stay up to date with all Malta tax legislative updates and assist with research and analysis on complex tax scenarios under guidance

Education, Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's in Accounting or a related field, or ACCA / nearing completion of ACCA qualifications

• 2+ years of work experience in Malta

• Fluency in English at C2 or native level

• Good understanding and working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel

• Excellent listener with strong communication skills

• Organised with a keen eye for detail

• Able to work independently and in a team

• Strong multitasking and time management skills
