We are looking for an Accounting Manager to lead our accounting and tax department. This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing client accounting, tax compliance, and advisory services. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise across both fields, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality service to our clients.

​Main duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

​

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of both the accounting and tax departments, including team management, task delegation, and performance monitoring.
  • Review and ensure the accuracy of management accounts, VAT returns, and direct tax filings prepared by the team.
  • Lead tax advisory projects for corporate and individual clients, including international tax planning, estate planning, and M&A structuring.
  • Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings, and manage statutory and regulatory filings.
  • Establish and enforce accounting and tax policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring compliance with local and international standards (IFRS, GAPSME, Income Tax Act, VAT Act).
  • Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and accounting standards and communicate relevant updates internally and to clients.
  • Identify and implement workflow improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timely delivery of financial and tax reporting.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional customer service and timely responses to inquiries.
  • Assist with internal training, mentoring, and professional development of team members.
  • Support the preparation of technical content such as articles on our website.
  • Collaborate with partners on strategic projects and high-value client engagements.

​Qualifications:

​

  • A University degree in Accounting, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Further specialisation in taxation (e.g., Master's in Tax, ADIT, MIT) is considered an asset.

​

​Experience:

​

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a client accounting and/or tax-focused role.
  • Strong experience in both compliance and advisory work is highly valued.

​

​Key Skills and Attributes:

​

  • Sound knowledge of IFRS, GAPSME, Income Tax Act, and VAT Act.
  • Ability to manage, mentor, and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High ethical standards and a strong sense of professionalism.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting/tax software.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
