Accounts Clerk

Hudson Group is an international retailer and distributor primarily involved in the sport and fashion 
wear sectors. The Group's head office is in Malta but is also present through offices in Italy, Cyprus, 
Morocco, Nigeria and Algeria. 

Though Hudson Holdings was founded in 2006, the Group's roots reach as far back as 1987 when the 
first pair of NIKE was sold in Malta.
 
Role purpose
The role is to provide support and oversee the reconciliation procedures for every store in its End of 
Day process. 

The key duties and responsibilities of the role are as follows: 

•Running various billing reports from back office, checking, and verifying the accuracy of the 
  data.

• Be aware of any potential shortage of cash flow, financial irregularities with EOD processes, 
   vouchers or POS receipts

• Managing accounting functions related to EOD

• Managing EOD closing

• Ensuring that EOD checks are made in a timely manner.

• Ensure end-of-day store closure procedures and other required checks on sales made in retail 
   stores are performed for all retail stores

• Liaise with external auditors and handle audit requests relating to end-of-day postings

• Communicate with retail store managers on any issue they encounter with respect to the 
   accounting system

• Identifying any issues by reporting on the system from store personnel or from the system itself

• Check and report incidents such as theft

• Responsible for bank reconciliation related to the shops' cash deposits

• Managing the reconciliation of VAT books.

• Assisting with archiving process across all the group

KPI:

• Timely closure of EOD related accounts for monthly management reporting purposes

• Appropriate handling of EOD accounting issues (clearing discrepancies on control accounts, 
   proper checks on identified over/under variance and escalation of matters with Retail Ops Mgt. 
    etc)

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

• Retail store experience is sequel considered as an asset

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

• Have the ability to process large amounts of numerical data able to work well within a team and 
   holds affective communication skills

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
