Junior Accountant

Our client, a well-established organisation in the food manufacturing and retail sector, is currently seeking to recruit a Junior Accountant to join their finance team. The selected candidate will support various aspects of credit control, cost analysis, and financial reporting, contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounting function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate new credit requests and perform client credit checks.
• Process invoices and ensure timely payment of debts.
• Follow up on outstanding payments and manage the collection of payments and debts.
• Respond to client enquiries related to accounts and billing.
• Collect and analyse data on the company's operational costs.
• Set standard costs for manufactured goods and develop cost standards.
• Carry out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis and assist with cost reporting.
• Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Advise management on appropriate costing decisions based on financial data.
• Support other members of the accounting team with invoicing and capital expenditure tracking.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Currently pursuing or in the process of obtaining an ACCA qualification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial work.
• Reliable, organised, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
