Accounting Officer

Our client is currently seeking to recruit an Accounting Officer to join their growing Finance Team within the aviation sector. Based in Malta, the Group is undergoing a period of significant expansion, and the Accounting Officer will contribute to meeting the company's accounting and financial reporting obligations.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

• Gaining an understanding of the Group's business, with a focus on monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting timelines;
• Updating and maintaining accurate bookkeeping records;
• Issuing customer invoices and managing aged receivables, accrued income, and related matters;
• Posting purchase invoices and monitoring accounts payable;
• Performing general ledger entries, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions;
• Supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures;
• Assisting in intercompany reconciliations and other reporting-related tasks;
• Participating in assigned internal finance projects; and,
• Supporting additional tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the finance department.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of an A-Level in Accounts;
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role;
• Experience within the aviation industry, a Big Four audit firm, or a corporate service provider will be considered an asset;
• Knowledge of local VAT laws will also be considered an asset;
• A logical, detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and high standards;
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills;
• Strong communication skills in English (fluency in Maltese is an advantage); and,
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant IT tools;
• A self-motivated attitude with the flexibility to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
