We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented UI Designer to join our team in Malta. In this hybrid role, you will design user interfaces for web and mobile applications, ensuring a clean, modern, and consistent visual identity. You will collaborate with UX designers, developers, and stakeholders to deliver user-centered, visually compelling designs that align with business and customer needs.

Your focus:

  • Design user interfaces for web and mobile applications, ensuring consistency and modern aesthetics.
  • Collaborate with UX designers to translate wireframes, prototypes, and research insights into high-fidelity designs.
  • Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and component libraries.
  • Ensure designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG, inclusive design principles).
  • Partner with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
  • Conduct design reviews, gather feedback, and iterate on solutions.
  • Stay current with UI trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Contribute to building a strong design culture within the organisation.

Required skills & qualifications:
Must-have:

  • Proven experience as a UI Designer or in a similar design role.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma or similar.
  • Strong understanding of typography, color theory, grid systems, and visual hierarchy.
  • Experience designing for responsive and mobile-first platforms.
  • Familiarity with design systems and component-based approaches.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to balance creativity with functionality.

Nice-to-have:

  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Experience contributing to design culture or design-led projects in a fintech or tech environment.
