Fleet & Garage Manager

About the Role On behalf of our client, a leading fleet operator supporting both Delivery and Taxi services, R77 Elite Talent is assisting in the recruitment of an experienced and driven Fleet & Garage Manager. This role is pivotal in ensuring the operational efficiency, compliance, and reliability of the fleet, while leading a team of mechanics and working closely with drivers to uphold service standards. Key Responsibilities Fleet Management & ComplianceDevelop and implement strategies to maximise fleet availability and reduce operational costsOversee routine servicing, inspections, and emergency repairs to minimise vehicle downtimeEnsure all vehicles are fully compliant with Transport Malta regulations, including roadworthiness tests, licensing, and insurance Driver Oversight & PerformanceCoordinate driver scheduling and ensure adherence to assigned routes and service levelsMonitor driver conduct and performance, enforcing company policies and road safety standardsWork with drivers to resolve issues and promote safe, efficient driving behaviour Garage Operations & Technical OversightLead the daily operations of the in-house garage team, including mechanics and support staffEnsure efficient diagnosis and timely repair of mechanical issuesOversee inventory levels, spare parts management, and garage safety procedures Operational Efficiency & Budget ControlTrack and control fleet-related expenses including fuel, maintenance, and repair costsNegotiate contracts with service providers, workshops, parts suppliers, and insurersMaintain accurate fleet documentation and generate regular reports for senior management Team Leadership & CollaborationProvide hands-on leadership, performance reviews, and skills development for the garage teamCollaborate cross-functionally with dispatch, logistics, and finance to support business goalsDrive a culture of continuous improvement, professionalism, and accountability across the team Requirements & SkillsProven experience in fleet, garage, or operations management within the transport or logistics sectorStrong leadership and organisational capabilities with a proactive problem-solving approachSolid understanding of vehicle maintenance schedules, diagnostics, and repair proceduresConfident in using Microsoft Office tools and basic fleet management softwareExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to coordinate across departmentsData-driven decision-maker with strong attention to cost control and process optimisation Whats OfferedA stable, full-time role with a well-established Maltese transport companyCompetitive salary and benefits package based on experienceOpportunity to lead a high-impact operational function with room for growthOngoing support and guidance from R77 Elite Talent throughout your employment journey
