Assistant to CFO

An Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer is now required to takes responsibility for the finance functions across group companies, monitoring, reporting and analysing financial data.
Successful individuals with have held an Assistant Financial Controller or Financial Controller position within industry, preferably overseeing multiple business units.
The responsibilities within this role include:
- Preparation of Management Accounts for allocated group companies, including the preparation of month-end and year-end journals (including wages & salaries journals)
- Review of payroll calculations for group companies
- Liaison with external auditors during the audit for allocated group companies
- Preparation and submission of MBR Annual Returns, BO forms and NSO returns for the companies
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
- Preparation of annual budgets for allocated group companies including the calculation and charging out of monthly Management Fees to subsidiary companies
- Timely and accurate preparation of Group P&L and Group Cashflow / Investment Plan schedules
- Assistance in the preparation of documentation (KYC, EBITDA multiple, other forms, etc) for banks annual reviews
- Keep up to date with the various fiscal and cash incentives available by Malta Enterprise and other authorities and validate the group eligibility visàvis the de minimis rules and group tax position
- Assistance in the preparation financial feasibility studies for business & investment opportunities
- Collaborate with group external auditors in annual group consolidation workings
- Assistance in the preparation of group board papers (CFO report) and any other group related financial schedules, such as variance reporting, analysing trends and investigating discrepancies in a collaborative manner with the relevant teams
- Ensure consistency of the Group Chart of Accounts within the ERP system
- Assistance in developing Group and Head-Office accounting policies to maintain and strengthen the company's internal controls
Applicants will:
- Have held an FC or Assistant FC position
- Possess excellent knowledge of IFRS and local taxation laws
- Be fluent with Shireburn Financial Management Systems, Microsoft Dynamics and Excel This is an excellent opportunity to take a lead role with a large and ever expanding business.
