The Xara Collection in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Head Sommelier to join their team on a full-time basis.

The group's diversified portfolio comprises the award-winning fine dining de Mondion perched on Mdina's bastions, the cozy al fresco Trattoria located in the palace's courtyard but as well, catering services, and hr Xara Lodge, an events center just outside Mdina. About the role:

You will be the restaurant's expert on wine while ensuring a five-star service to our patrons.
We are seeking a thorough professional who is adept at new wine trends and makes recommendations with confidence and passion
As a Sommelier, you will delight our guests by helping them choose the best wine to complete meal experiences.
You will be responsible of creating and updating the wine list in coordination with the F&B Manager, as well as ensuring all beverages are stored securely.
You will share your knowledge through informative training of the outlet team members and management

Qualifications
Prior experience as a Sommelier would be preferable.
A vast knowledge of wine, and the willingness to learn
A strong background in front-of-house roles
A knowledge of the wine-making process, as well as the regions of different types of wine
Proven understanding of the order of service and the running of a fine-dining restaurant
Customer-focused approach with excellent customer service skills
