The Role
This is a diverse role where you will be responsible for the health control measures of travellers from affected countries and coordinate the tracing of exposed contact. This will also include monitoring of travellers embarking/disembarking via Sea and Aircraft. The department has four units which include, Migrant entry screening, Port Health office, Airport Health Office and International Health Regulation National Focal point.
You will have the support of a team of health inspectors and office assistants and will be part of a team of four Public Health Officers. There is also an opportunity to undertake research and control projects. You will also liaise with colleagues based in the UK and Ireland.
This role is based on a shift roster (early, late and nightshift) as the team provides 24/7 coverage. Normal working hours are between 40-48 hrs per week (this includes on call hours).
